Window vacuum leaks?
I have two or three windows in my home that are 23 years old. These would be the the double payne type that have a vacuum seal between the outer & inner paynes. I assume the vacuum seals have broken because depending on temperatures & weather condiitions I have either beads of moisture or cloudiness between the paynes. Is there anything I can do to remove the moisture & ugly cloudyness from between the paynes & somehow repair the vacuum seal. Or must I get in touch with the manufacturer & order new replacement windows. Or is it something a good window & glass shop can repair.
Thanks for the advice |

Window vacuum leaks?
There are companies that will come out and drill the IGU (insulated glass unit) to allow it to "breath" and vent to inside the home.
The idea is that this venting will allow the moisture to dry to the inside under normal conditions. I am not sure that investing the the repair of a 23 year old window is good math, but you can do it either that way or via a replacement/reglazed sash.
