window lengths in a room

We are adding on a family room. 8 ft ceilings.

I understand that all windows should be at the same header - 6'8" from the floor. But would it look abnormal to have windows on different walls go down to different levels from the floor? We are thinking of having our windows on one wall sit 18" from the floor, while having windows on another wall sit at 32" from the floor. Again - they would all go up to the same height on the wall?

Would such a configuration upset the gods of interior design?

My sunroom has larger windows - at a different height then the doors
The windows are all the same, 9' wall
All depends upon what you like
Its never bothered me to have the windows at different heights
It can depend upon the room too

I think as long as the tops line up it should be OK
Are the windows the same widths ?
Is there a specific reason for the different sizes ?
Bigger windows face South ?

thanks. They will not be different widths either.

3 X 5 windows on the south wall. Tall and skinny to allow light in, but leave room in between for the flat screen. THe west wall will have 4 x 4s.

Do be aware that within a certain distance of the floor, window glass may have to be tempered glass for safety - an inspectable item and cost adder. Check with your building department for the specification of how many inches - when I did our remodel it was 18" if I recall correctly.
