Window installation question

Hello everyone,

When installing a new construction window is it necessary to create a draining damn on the sill? I read online about using a piece of cedar siding since its beveled and fasten to sill? If this is true should it be installed under or over the sill flashing?

Window installation question

Not necessary if you flash properly. If you go that route, clapboard goes under flashing.
