window install

I am installing new vinyl windows which are replacing aluminum windows so I'm going from a less than 2" frame to over a 3" frame. I only have 1x2 buck strips so the new window screw holes will not line up with the buck strip. Do I need to install new bucking or can I screw the window directly into the block.

Thanks
