I know that. I have been down there to the GAF plant, to pick up shingles. Also the same in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and along with up in Wi. in a lot of villages and cities.

Even in my town, you have manufacturing mixed in with residential in a few parts of town. We have one company that machines parts for the Cat 797 Mining Dump Truck, and the sister version for Kamatsu, sits against a neighborhood.

The shop started out as a dairy milking barn, then turned into a machine shop by the same family that owned the dairy barn, when WWII broke out, and the military needed parts made for planes and tanks.

We hear all of the time from people that look for homes in that area, that complain about the trucks coming and going into that facility, to pick up and drop off parts. But they do not realize that that facility was there, before the homes were built.

Same with another facility in Auburn, IL that processes meat, that is looking to move to land that they own, and same with a facility in Chatham, IL that has been there before the homes were there.

Right now the Meat packing plant in Auburn is dealing with a bunch of Nimby's, that are upset that they want to expand to a build a new facility on land, that they have owned before the subdivision that was built around five years ago, that is next to the property. It was even disclosed to those parties wishing to purchase a already constructed home, or looking to build in that subdivision, that the meat packing plant inside Auburn, may build their new facility on that land at any given time.

Last time they went to the village, they had two couples show up, out of the twenty or so families that live there, stating that they never knew that the plant would be built next to their homes, even though it is on file and disclosed at the time they purchased their properties.

Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?

There is mixed building everywhere, which has never seemed to bad to me. Just a few building codes, but they haven't seem to affect anyone else.

I'm just getting started so nothing to interesting. So far, 1980 Chevy Blazer K5, 68' Dodge power wagon, and a very beat up 68' Chevy Nova 350. All of these were sort of left along from family. But I'm determined to get them resurrected. Along with building onto my collection. Bringing to life yet another childhood dream.
