What's oozing out of my wall?!

Hey everyone. My tenant just sent me disturbing pictures of a brown substance oozing out of the wall of her bedroom! its the outer wall facing facing the backyard. Any idea what could be happening?

my friend thought it may be a foundation problem since it is a crack. The tenant says she sees nothing on the outside of the house.

Is the room below grade? A basement apartment?

no. the entire room is an above ground add-on to the house. I had a contractor up on the roof the roof yesterday putting up a silver coat.

Its too much of a coincidence to not be related, but I can't figure out how they could be.

Haven't you ever seen a horror movie? It's one of those first signs that a demon has infested the place.

Funny, I was thinking ectoplasm. It looks really dark and concentrated but possibly it stems from water saturated wood seeping through those cracks. The wood will stain the water brown.

Oh sure, that's if you believe homes are made of wood, and that color actually comes from the tannins in the wood that leach out when they are soaked, say from a roof leak that penetrated down the wall.

Me, I'm stickin with my "infested with demons" theory - it hasn't been disproven yet!

The wood was saturated, his added weight was like squeezing out a sponge. I'd be looking much closer at this problem.

Is there a chimney anywhere near that? I was thinking creosote as well from a bad chimney liner.
