What Would You Do?
This is a pic of what 'used' to be the closet for the water heater.

We plan to use it as an outside utility closet for yard tools and what ever.

My question....see the 2x4 going up the wall? The stucco will stop at that 2x4.
So....what do I do inside? Would you just paint the plywood or would you cover it with something besides stucco?

Stucco is not out of the question....but I really don't want to go through the it's protected from rain....

In other words, I'm looking for an 'out of the box' idea.

You have to look at it every day. I think it's your call. For me, I would tear down the remaining two walls and the 2x4 and stucco the entire wall. Then find someplace else to store my stuff. If I absolutely had to keep it, I would frame the opening and put a small door on it. To me, leaving it open and walking past my shovels and rakes, looks unfinished.

It's hard to find anyone that stocks it but Hardee makes a panel that looks like stucco.

Ok...I forgot to add.....there is a door that goes there....I pulled it off so I could get the water heater out easier.

We want to keep it because it provides a bit of 'protection/cover' for that side door.

I'll look into the Hardi other option was to drywall it then paint with exterior paint...but I wouldn't think drywall would last long.

Part of my problem is that in about 6 months, part of it comes down because we are going to change the front of the house. All the lap boards come down...insulate...shear panels...then stone fascia about 3' up then some either hardi or vinyl shake...still to be decided...
