What repairing methods are most suitable?
I am a novice to brickwork, so I would greatly appreciate some advice on how to fix some cracks on my brick wall.
I discovered a couple of huge cracks in between bricks on one of the brick walls surrounding my garden.
I have taken a few measurements, and it seems like that the upper section of the wall above the crack has not moved at all, but the bottom part below the crack has leaned inwards. (Please see attached photograph). Iím suspecting that it might be caused by movement of the ground.
I am worried that the brick wall might collapse. In this case, should I get the wall repaired or replaced? What repairing methods are most suitable?
You can certainly tuck point the cracks with mortar mix, but that's a band aid fix for a bigger problem. Your wall has some sort of settlement problem that is probably based on the footing underneath it. Or, the earth that it is retaining is pushing against it due to lack of drainage.
