What Do You Think About The Tiny House Movement?

These tiny houses are cool. People will dream for years about living in one. Then come to realize they are too small to live in after one month. Around here you can find a nice older pull behind trailer for around 2000 dollars. You would have 10,000 into one of these tiny houses. If you had a friend with some property you could design a tiny house that matched his house and park it in his yard unnoticed. I was planning to buy a huge track of land in East Cleveland and turn it into a massive tiny house community. I will pm you when I have a slab with all utilities for sale. Honestly the number did not add up and Cleveland is run by people that are not that forward thinking. Better to just leave it a very rough area

Go live in Japan.....that is normal for them.

I can just see BigJim in a tiny house.....sitting next to a huge garage for all his wood working tools.

Me too. That's why our current home is a log house (built it ourselves).

That would be one of my main problems, I would really go nuts with no tools to do something when needed, can you just imagine that!!!?

I plan to sell a lot of my tools and downsize but will buy smaller tools to do the same things. I shudder the thought of not having tools.

I think one of the main reasons for having a tiny home would be the challenge of arranging it to accommodate a comfortable life without doing without. I love a challenge.

One nice thing about a tiny house is that you'd be very limited as to the amount of shopping you could do. Each time you see something you like at the store, you'd have to first figure out if there is room for it. Good way to save money!

Just think though, you could clean it with a leaf blower in just a few minutes, if you had a place for the leaf blower. LOL

Just open the door, back it up and slam on the brakes.

You don't need to have space for the leaf blower if Bill Murray is your golf course groundskeeper neighbor.

Sounds like something people do because they have to, not because they want to. Plus, if hippies like it, I automatically hate it.

I disagree, I don't have to, but I sure would like to. I haven't seen any hippies in any of the homes yet and I sure am not a hippie. Did you not read the article about the architect in the link above? She wasn't a hippie.
Not sure why you would think this is a hippie thing. (By the way, I never approved of hippie behavior either)

I think there are a lot of people that prefer not to have to clean and maintain 2800 sq ft when its only the 2 of them, or just one person.

What Do You Think About The Tiny House Movement?

Some people want to live a simple lifestyle and just don't want a lot of "stuff".

The more you have, the more time you spend maintaining, and the less time and money you have to enjoy life.

You can do that with a $500 wall tent

What Do You Think About The Tiny House Movement?

Tiny houses definitely aren't for everyone but it is a growing trend around the world.

There is no "best way" to live. It all comes down to what brings you happiness.
