What is the best fastener scheme for outdoor decks in high humidity areas?

I am looking for opinions on the best type, design, & fastener scheme for outdoor decks in humid areas, such was we have in Hawaii. We are debating whether to go with trex, cedar, or (?) and whether to try concealed fastener systems or go with exposed stainless type screws. Many jobs in our area are exposed to very high humidity and sometimes even salt spray that is bad enough to kill plants near the deck locations. Thanks.
