Wet Crawl space

We bot a new house and a large area in crawl space is perpetually wet. We received few quotes from contractors - some suggesting french drain, some suggesting de-humiidifiers, some suggesting tar liner etc..

Am confused - the quotes range from 3K-8K.

Please advise what's the ideal way to handle this.

Thx, manud

Re: Wet Crawl space

Ayuh,..... The Best way to handle yer house issue, as well as the garage issue, is by gradin' the yard to move the water Away from the buildin's,....

Every situation is different,...
Got any pictures of the place, that might show the grades, 'n pitch around yer buildin's,..??
Surface drainage, via swales is better that subterranean drainage tiles/ french drains,....

Re: Wet Crawl space

Holy cow. I see a number of threads that you started about your new house. Did you have this home inspected before you purchased?
I don't mind spending money, I mind wasting money.

Re: Wet Crawl space

No pics and not enough info.

But normally a drain pipe from crawl space to lower space in the yard. If yard is higher then will need a pump.

Re: Wet Crawl space

Gutters, downspout extensions and grading to move/keep water away from the crawlspace in the first place.
