Water on garage floor

Every winter my garage floor has a pool of water from snow that melts off my car. This tends to seep into the attached basement wall and has caused damage to the insulation and drywall. For a temporary fix, I installed self-stick vinyl wall base and then caulked where it meets the garage floor. I think that has improved things, but I think I should address the puddles in the garage also. What should I do?

Water on garage floor

The garage floor is required by code to slope towards the car door in case gasoline leaks from the vehicle. Either pour a new concrete slab or possibly cut sloping grooves in the existing slab for drainage. Ask your local building Inspector on this....

Be safe, Gary

really? huh wish they would of done that around here... our code wants it like a basin sloping inward towards a center drain..... seems better to slope towards the door though
