Water in Basement of New Build

I know that water in the basement of a new build is to be expected - our sump pump and electrical system aren't hooked up yet - but my builder plans on putting drywall up and the flooring down in the top two floors with all this water in the basement. I've heard that this excess moisture isn't good for either of those two procedures. My builder seems determined to stay on his timeline. What should I do?

Where are you building, what's in the contract?

Schedule a sit down with the builder, talk this through, give (offer) him in writing a NO PENALTY extension (to either party) for 2 weeks to get the water out.

There is so many circumstances around your case/claim...how much water, how long has it been in there, is the builder responsive to your concerns, what has he told you so far, etc, etc.

If the basement has windows that open, the humidity in the house won't be any greater with than without the water in the basement.
