Question

wall below low deck ledger

my deck is only about 20" and on one end it rests on my shed and there is a ledger there. the area below the ledger is only about a foot high and i was only gonna put house wrap over the sheathing, without siding as it won't be exposed. was wondering if that will be sufficient moisture protection or should i apply something else.

thanks

wall below low deck ledger

House wrap wont do the job. It will be degraded by ultraviolet and even the gentlest of breezes. It doesnt have to covered by the most expensive of sidings. Just by something that wont dissolve.Whatever it is should run up behind the deck ledger. The top of the ledger should be flashed. This will keep water from getting behind the ledger and damaging the structure it is attached to. House. Shed. Whatever. It's your house. Protect it.
