Vinyl siding installation question
I am getting a bit ahead of myself with this question, since I have a few things to do before installing siding, but I like planning for the future.
How important is it that the area that vinyl siding is being installed on is flush?
Basically, I am working with an area where the bottom 3 feet of the area is bumped out about 1/2" to 5/8" more than the rest of the area that siding will be applied to. I was wondering if this is a big deal or if I can just make it work.
That depends if you want to see a bump in your wall or not.
You could add 1/2" insulation to top side only to make it go away.
I really don't mind a bump in the area. It is in the back above the garage on such a small area. I am worried that if I add that insulation, I will have trouble with the J Channel on the one side. It meets a brick corner and I don't want the siding to come out too far past it.
