VINYL SIDING & WET BASEMENT

We replaced of vinyl siding 2 years ago. Builder extended siding down to ground. We are now having problems with water in basement after hard rain. Any connection?

Maybe, maybe not.

Posting some pictures (inside and out) would be a good start.
How to attach a photo to a post

Siding should not have anything to do with this.

Only possibilities is starer strip nailed to close to grade and water backs up under siding starting strip and into block wall. only other thing if a 'J" channel at a window was folded incorrectly and that can channel water back i nto the sheeting/tarpapr/celotex and down the wall between the siding and to top foundation plate. That can be tested with a heavy sprinkler for some time to re act in the basement.

Other then that were there any grade changes if so that could be a catalyst .

There's all kinds of ways water can get behind vinyl siding and end up in the basement.

Here's just one example from the other day. Basement problem... but is it really the roof!?

To say that "this" or "that" are the only ways water can get behind the siding and into the basement is just wrong. The true list of possibilities is a long one.

Based on the lack of info supplied by OP it may have nothing to do with the siding at all.
