Vapor barrier for basement bathroom?

I am in the process buiding a basement bathroom with a shower stall as part of my on-going home renovation. My question is do I need to install a vapor barrier behind the sheetrock/ concrete board? It seems to me that the vapor barrier can cause more problems with moisture being trapped between the sheetrock and the vapor barrier? Should I use the new vapor resistant sheetrock instead? Does it sound like I am confused, yes! Thank you for your help. The bathroom does have an exaust fan by the way.
