I am in the process of installing vapor barrier in my standup shower.
Should I install the vapor barrier all the way up to the ceiling or only 5' off the shower tray? I have seen people do it to the ceiling, but I guess I don't understand why. I don't plan to tile the wall that high up too.
do not know where you live but here is what IRC says
R307.2 Bathtub and shower spaces.
Bathtub and shower floors and walls above bathtubs with installed shower heads and in shower compartments shall be finished with a nonabsorbent surface. Such wall surfaces shall extend to a height of not less than 6 feet (1829 mm) above the floor.
