Unique framing condition: Enclosed Porch
I will try my best to describe my situation since I don't have access to any pictures at the moment. I'll attach a .pdf file i just drew.
I am building a walkout basement house. The master bedroom, on the main floor, will open up into a screened-in weatherproof porch. The porch begins over another room downstairs about 5' in from the exterior basement wall. I've used 24" floor trusses. Basically i have a 5' x 12' opening in the subfloor. The joists for the porch will start there and extend 9' past the exterior wall.
My question is simple. How is this done? I've thought about a couple of ways, but neither seems to fit the bill.
