The ugliest basement remodel job I've ever seen (PICS)
This is the basement in my parents' home, which they purchased about a year ago. Funny thing is, my dad doesn't see much of a problem with this job, and won't listen to me when I tell him it is horribly half-assed, for lack of a better term.
For good measure, this is outside the bathroom...that pipe you see is a drain pipe for the bathroom vanity. No wonder it smells like a sewer in there and the sink drains slowly.
My problem is I am trying to convince them to remodel the correct way, and I don't want to help them if they don't. It's hard to convince them though; maybe some of the professionals here can sway them.
I have similar problem with my Dad, not exactly the same.... my Dad try to do a lot of hole drillings in various walls in his newly purchased condo (new). with some old wood board here or there.... I think I inherite his renovation gene... asking him not to leave so many holes on the wall with ugly wood will get him mad... trust me, he even drill holes in his large fibre glass self contained tub and shower unit... I have to go after him by putting caulking here or there to ensure no mold or leaks... I hope I won't be the same when I am old...
