trex decking color advice

We are getting ready to have a new deck built using Trex composite decking. However, we are having difficulty choosing a color. In the accents line, we are trying to decide between saddle, madeira and woodland brown. Any advice? Do any of you have a deck with any of these colors and if so, do you like it? Any extra maintenance with dark colors? Thanks!!!

Ummm...maybe match or contrast w/ your house color? If the deck will be in the sun, doesn't much matter which color you go with anyway, in a year, they will all fade to light tan.

Agreed, don't pick Trex based on color. The fading can be significant, and comes as a shock to many Trex buyers. When I was in the lumber business, we required our yard guys to keep every inch of every piece of Trex covered, because otherwise the top and sides of every bundle would fade. Customers would want to reject those pieces because they were a couple months ahead of the rest of the deck, and the difference a couple months in the sun made was noticeable.

Personally, I hate the stuff.

This has not been my experience. Arizona sun usually takes its toll pretty quick and Trex fades quite a bit in the first month or two, but all the colors remain distinctly different, years later.
