Tray Ceiling / Soffit - Stud connection help needed

Newbie here..never had experience with wood or tools..But I can do it at my time...
When Contructing

After finishin

Ceiling Rafter + Soffit planning

Want to be looking like this

Soffit Size: Side A & Side C 24" W X 16" ( Refer third pic )
Side B - 30" W X 16" ( Refer Third pic )
Side D - I DONT KNOW...due to ceiling joists position
Purpose : Run Speaker Wires, Lighting , nice crown moulding & Rope Light
Questions
1: for the room size of 14'4" X 18' -- Soffit size is too big??
2: Side A, Side B, Side C -- I am ok with the planned width of Soffit box
For Side D -- due to the ceiling joist position I am confused with where to locate the Soffit Stud on ceiling... I NEED HELP IN THIS PLACE...
3: Since the purpose is only for light weight items like speaker conduits - recessed light fixtures & crown moulding -- 2X2 or 2X4 for soffit building
