Tiling in two planes common practice?
 

What is the common practice when tiling in two different planes? I am tiling a fireplace hearth should I set the tile on the top with the bullnose first or shoud I set the vertical tile first so I can match the depth the bullnose extends out exactly. see my picture below

Set the vertical tile first so the bullnose can be set exactly where it needs to be.
