well I am looking at doing spray foam on my rim joist, since its been a pain in the butt to do it with XPS in some of the smaller spots..... was looking at the home kits Tiger foam sells fast and slow rise (I'd assume I want fast because this isn't an enclosed space behind walls... just the rim joist with the one open end... but their small kit does 200 board ft. at 1 inch... now if I just wanted to seal this up and make it air tight with what R-6 at 1" would this be enough to do this house?
I have walls at that total in length to 190 ft long... when you take out the width of the 2x10's the joists are made of the cavity is about 9 inches high and ~13? inches long... do you think I could get away with one kit just to seal this up? or am I looking at the 600 board ft kit?
Was thinking fill it with at least 1" of spray foam to seal it off and top it off with fiberglass insulation to fill any space left
