Threshold on concrete floor

I'm ready to install a threshold on a recently poured concrete floor. However, when the floor was poured, they blocked out the doorway leaving about a 1/4" difference between the finished floor and foundation wall. In other words, if you look in profile across the threshold, there would be a slight step (1/4") parallel to and approximately in the middle of where the threshold will be installed.

My question is, should I try and level the step to make the entire threshold level or can I bridge the threshold across the step?

Thanks for your help.
