Thinking about building any type of foundation? Deck? shed?

I'm trying to figure out if the 8x16 shop addition I'm building requires a poured foundation. I found this article quite interesting !

search on google (or whatever you like) for "frost protected shallow foundation" and also for "Rubble trench foundation"

There are also floating foundations - much like railway tracks use.

Whether you use concrete is up to you and whatever building inspector says! lol

What is the shop for? 8x16 could be just a wood floor. Soil cement is also another option (soil and cement mixed with rototiller)
