Temporary wall construction

I'm doing a remodel to remove a wall dividing the kitchen from an addition on the back of the house. The opening will be appx 24'. I've already got the beam ready, and now I'm working on creating a temporary support wall. My question is simple. Is it ok to create 3 separate 8' support walls instead of one long 24' wall? I ask because it's easier to transport 8' 2x4's than it is to strap down a 24' piece of wood.

Thanks!
