Surface bond cement and fiber cement shingle

My house (built 1914) has the original fiber cement shingles in good, solid condition with at least two coats of paint on them. My only problem: I hate them.

I have three questions: first, can I surface bond cement (SBC) over them similar to a stucco after I first strip the paint with a power washer or should I use a bonding agent over the old paint? Secondly, should I use either galvanized poultry netting or EIFS fiberglass netting over them? Lastly, can I use a product like Quikrete's one coat stucco or should I stick with the SBC with an acrylic fortifer mixed in? The SBC is a little more money, but I have experience with it and really like the way it finishes.

I know it's asking alot, but since I struck on this idea, I'm liking it more and more especially since I much prefer working with concrete and mortar's versus other fields.

how long do you think paint'll adhere to the existing shingles as it wasn't a bonding agent ?,,, i'd think its better to mechanically attach galv expanded wire mesh THEN proceed.

Good point- didn't think of that. I think I'll do a combination mesh and powerwashing.

One question on the mesh: qhy do you prefer galv wire mesh versus fiberglass mesh?
