support for tire swing or porch swing

We are building an 8' x 8' playhouse eight feet off the ground. Floor joists will be pressure treated 2x6 set 12" apart. Is one 2x6 8 feet long strong enough to support a tire swing or a porch swing hung underneath? If 2 x 6 is not enough support, please suggest what support needs to be installed---we have not begun, so I can add more lumber to order and it can be created without having to remodel. Thanks!

Hard to say with being able to see a set of plans, a picture, something so we can see you plan on hanging it.
I would just double up the 2 X 6 in that area.

Thank you. Plan is to frame 8 x 8 platform using 2x6 every 12 inches with outside square being 2x10. Down the road want to hand tire swing suspended flat from bottom of platform. Platform is to be about 8 feet off ground so there should be room for a swing. (is that enough of a plan/detail?)

You are not going to get much pendulum action going with a 5 foot piece of rope. Dont you have any tall trees?
