Well that is a very opened question Depends? What is the span? what is the live load? what is the dead load? Etc...

As you can see from above....more questions than answers....

Are you meaning real support beams supporting floor joists or are you calling the floor joists support beams? Pics would help.

Normally, floor joists are 12" or 16" OC (On Center). If these are then attached to support beams, the distance between the beams would depend on the loading above, the span of the floor joists ad the spacing as well as the depth of the floor joists. A 2x12 floor joist can span a longer distance than a 2x8....

As you can see....lots of questions....

it also depends on what type of floor system your using.. what the wall layout is going to be.. to many variables to answer such a vague question
