Sunroom

I have been trying to get a reasonable sunroom quote and every one that I have gotten quotes from has been way too expensive. I don't have a clue at how hard or how 200sf of space can be over 20k. Does anyone have any ideas that can help me find a cheaper way to get the sunroom for less than 10k. Also, there are other things that I would like to do to my home and I am looking to get them done as cheaply as possible. Please see below for my to do list and if you can help please let me know.

1.) Bamboo flooring and Ceramic tile through out a 1500sf home.
2.) Sunroom of 200sf (right now the area is a screened in back porch)
3.) Painting the inside and outside of my home.
4.) Adding railings on to my exisiting front porch.
5.) Remodeling my Kitchen to include new cabinets and a work island.
6.) Adding on to one end of my house to make a master bedroom suite.
7.) Installing a specific design of a inground pool.
8.) Installing a privacy fence.
9.) Installing new energy efficient windows and doors.
10.) Remodeling both bathrooms to include new cabinets with marble or granite counter tops.


I live in Smiths, Alabama but work in Iraq at the moment and I am trying to get most if not all of this done before I come home for good.

I built an approx 250 sq ft sunroom on the back of my house
Existing cement patio, so no foundation needed
Otherwise foundation can cost a couple grand, pier & beams less
6 skylights (3 are venting) close to $3k
Sliding patio door close to $1k, 5 big windows ~$1500k
Lumber could be $1-2k (never added it up)
Insulation, electric, heating, roofing, drywall, flooring etc then all ad up to a couple more grand

I think I spent over $10k easily on materials

I also have an existing concrete pad and they said that they would have to add to it... It is already 4" thick. I already have a metal aweing that is screened in. All I would need would be the windows and doors and redo the kicks on mine. I live in the South so it doesn't get that hot or cold but I could always place a space heater out there if needed in the winter. They are also telling me that they would remove the awening which is metal and that was included in the price.

I read this and thought I would add my 2 cents...or 20k.

We're building a new house and are getting a "morning room", which is very similar to a sunroom. There's windows on all sides of the room and a sliding patio door. I forget the exact sq footage....but I would guess it's around 175 to 200 sq ft. They're charging 20k to add the morning room to the plans.

It's a beautiful addition to the house, and it is expensive. But just wanted to let you know that on our new house, it's 20k for the morning room...so you're probably in the right ballpark.
