Sump pump basin cover

My current sump pump / basin has one of those cheap plastic covers that just has a slit down it... not sealed up...

is there anyway to replace the cover or get one of those ones that is basically sealed with a hole for the pipe only to replace it? or does the whole sump basin need replaced somehow?

Why does it need to be sealed up? Kids/pets falling into it?

Humidity created by the water just sitting there... the bugs crawing out of it... etc...

I drew a circle around it with Ortho bug defense (i think it was) and you should see the tons of critters that came out of it and died right after going over the line of death

also helps deaden the noise of the pump running

If you are getting a lot of bugs, etc, call an exterminator, and they can look at the situation. The cover you are thinking, is the type used for Radon mitigation.
