Suggestions for building a PVC framed party tent?

I can engineer most of the frame myself. I'm looking for any success stories regarding the covering used, how it was connected, kept taught, etc.

I need it to be 16x28. It has to clear a bay window on my patio so I was thinking of a lean-to desig.

Thoughts?

Thanks as always.

Not a great idea.
PVC degrades when exposed to UV.
Has very little side load strength.
Most of the store bought PVC enclosures I've seen fail within a year.

I agree with Joe....

Even if you used 1" or larger....something that big would start to sag under it's own weight....the stuff has decent compression strength, but really sucks at side loading...so the moment you put any type of tarp or cover on it....it's going to start bending.

I would look into pre-fab setup's....or consider building a pergola style cover out of wood that you can cover if you want.

I know it's not what you want to hear....but I tried to use 1 1/2" PVC and ABS to just hold plastic in place on my addition last year when we had rains and it failed miserably......I had much better luck with 2x2 strips of wood 16' long...
