subfloor adhesive

If you screw your subfloor OSB to the beams, is it necessary to also use adhesive?

subfloor adhesive

Necessary?--No.

Smart?--YES--

Use a good bead of adhesive---prevents squeaks and fills gaps ,making for a more stable floor system.

I don't believe that it is required by code anywhere I have worked--But always a good practice.

Really makes a difference when you get a batch of floor joists that are not quite as wide as the other batch........ask me how I know......

Let me stress the "Smart" part.....the flooring is one of those things you can't really go back and fix with any kind of ease......once it's down and you have your framing on top....it's down and done....
