Adding master bed & bath. What is the difference between yellow pine & douglas fir? Is one better than the other? Also, when comparing lumber & other building materials...who has the best quality? home depot, lowes, lumber yards...

Different lumber species are stronger than others. Many times, the box stores get lumber from the same places as the yards. If you are having it delivered, you will probably get better material from a yard. At the box stores, people tend to pick through and select the best stuff, leaving the rest for deliveries.
