I wondering if someone could help me determine if these posts are a problem or not. We had a wood patio cover built about 10 years ago. The posts that hold it up are splitting. Is this something to be concerned about? The splits are about 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch wide but not very deep.

Pretty normal nowadays. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Those are 'heart checks' ---not a big problem as long as the never open up on the outside of the post.
