Storm Door.

I have installed a New 36" service door, and now Iam in the process of adding a Larson Storm Door. I did away with the Brick molding and did a Custom trim job, My qustion is I dont need the Brick molding? To install this storm, I had planned to just attach it to the Trim, which is 2x6, Just as long as my rough opening is still within its range? I know this may sound confussing, I sure hope u understand what iam trying to say.

Storm Door.

As long as the inside edge of the new trim is in the same place as where the brick mould was you'll be fine.

Storm Door.

that should work just fine. the profile of brick mold is about 1" thick where it meets/nails to the door jamb and where the storm door rail mounts to the brick mold. your 2x6 would be 1 1/2" thick. as long as you followed the mounting profile of the brickmold as it mounted to the door frame and have about 35 1/2" to 35 3/4" between your 2x6 a 36" storm should work fine. it will stick out 1/2" more than it would with brick mold but no biggie there.
