Steel Rebar in Poured Concrete Basement Walls

What is the best way to remove these rebars that stick out everywhere on my poured concrete basement walls. I am in the process of putting XPS down on the walls but need to get rid of these bars first. I was able to pull one out but the others are pretty stuck in there. Should I patch up the holes when finished removing them? Water has never leaked out of them. Or should I just put the XPS through them? It will kinda help out with keeping them to the wall better. Newbie here - dont know the best route?

Those look like "wall-ties" -
"Re-bar" is buried in the walls -
Wait and see if one of the concrete Pros respond to this -

Yes, those are the form ties. Contractor should have remove them. Bend them with a hammer. They should snap off. Put a blob of sealent over them to prevent any leaks.

Not a wall tie, just what looks to be a 2 1/2" to 3" masonry nail from "who knows what". I would just hit it sideways & up & down a few times until it falls out. No other work needed.
