A little more info,please---why does it need reinforcing? How much weight does it hold--how big is it--can you weld? Are you able and willing to consult with a pro? This is a prescribed kind of job and an engineer will need to make plans.

I tryed doing the brain surgery DIY and as you can tell by my post it did not work out.
