steel or gluelam beam
I have 2x6 joist on the 2nd floor of my storey and a half and want to put in a dormer . the span is 12-1/2 ft. from wall face to wall face . It will be sitting on 2x4 construction at both end , so the beam will have to be 12-1/2 plus at least 8" long . I can't have a beam more than 6"x6" , what can I use .
