spalling brick

Hi all, i was wondering if anyone had any ideas how to stop my brick issue. During winter on the east side of my house only my lowest courses of bricks seem to take on moisture and when it freezes it is causing them to spall. To me, it looks like the block foundation in leeching the moisture from the ground to the bricks. i attached some pics (i hope) to show what i mean. Any ideas what to do?
