So new to this please help??!!


..Hi everyone.. I'm soon moving out of my mothers house and moving into an apartment for the time being.. and going to start my new life.. i'm starting my new job at the hospital in the nicu nursery... my whole life i always dreamed about building my own house.. not the everyday home u see passing in ur car.. i mean a Big home like superstars has with a swimming pool inside:D .. i know its alot of money i've been saving since i was 16..I do live in Altoona PA.i'm plaining to move to north caroline or somewhere that has better wheather to build my house... so this is SO NEW to me.. i do not know nothing about building a house.. i'm trying to look for some answers and maybing some of you can help me heres some questions.. what do u need to start building a house i know u need to level land??.. How much does it really cost??.. what do i all need??.. where do i start at?? who do i start calling?? how do u start building it? anyone else knows any good ideas and advice i need to know please help!!... thanks alot!!...

Well my dear before you could even think about cost which varies all over the country - i.e. in affluent areas for simple structures you could be paying $350K then for the same house in less affluent areas, $160K for exactly the same structure.

Once you have selected the state etc where you want to live and build, you need to find and buy the land - making sure it is zoned for building a residential home - then and only then could you even think of looking for a builder etc to build the home of your dreams.

Amy:Go to the library and take out a book called "Be Your Own Contractor" by James M Sheppard
Or "Contracting your own home" by David Caldwell
This will give you a good idea of what you need to do to build your dream home
