Smokestack exterior paint repair

My 3 year old house has 2 square wooden smokestacks (around inserts) extend 8 feet above my steep roof. A recent hail storm beat some of the paint off the west side of the stacks. What are the best options to protect my smokestacks for the next 15 years? (Stucco, Hardi Board, Rhino Shield, etc.)

No idea without a picture to see what you mean by smoke stacks.

What is the current material? plywood? steel? aluminum? vinyl? I presume you mean chimneys.
If wood my choice would be vinyl or aluminum siding.
Do not PM with questions that can be asked in a forum. I will not respond.
