Small Deck Supports

I'm looking at putting a second floor deck off my bedroom. 6' deep and 12' long. Would it be possible to support the deck rim with (2) diagonal posts tied back at 45 degrees or more back to the house wall instead of going down to the ground. The supports could go out 4' to 5' and let the last 1' to 2 feet cantilever. This is new construction so the diagonal supports and the attachment to the wall can be configured and designed correctly without dealing with an existing structure.

You would probably need an engineer to run the design numbers & see if it works
6x12 is a fairly decent size to support
