Sliding glass door in a 40" opening

I am in the middle of a basement bathroom construction and have a 40" opening for a shower door. I'd like to use a slider because of space. Does anyone know if this is going to look bad? I'm thinking about ordering it online and would appreciate any advice on this one. Cheers

Sliding glass door in a 40" opening

If there is such a thing as a 40" slider (ie. for a total 40" width) that would probably leave around 18" opening to enter the shower ... That's a pretty skinny opening. Difficult (ie. impossible) to say how bad it looks given we know nothing else about the space.

Sliding glass door in a 40" opening

Hi Short,

You can go online to a bathroom supply manufacturer, like Kohler or showerdoorexpo.com, and see if they sell a product with your size requirements. You can also get one custom-made to size. I also search Home Depot's website, pick the manufacturer's name of the product I want to use, and then look on their website.

Sliding glass door in a 40" opening

I appreciate both your thoughts. I can find ONE sliding door for an opening of that size. That is why I ask the question about how bad this would look. I gues my real question is, " is a 40" sliding door practical?" and I thin Katherine answer is no...thanks Bonzai.
