Is a 2x4 header with a 3" x1/2 " steel plate,7 ft. long good enough to support a flat roof (was limited on wall height ) ??

Got a picture of where it's going?
Go back and add your location to your profile.
I can not even see that set up working even on a reguler door open never mind a slidder.

2x4 header even with flitch plate is not good enough to support any roof across 7' span. I would just make it a flat roof and install good roll roofing.
