Size/Type of Nails for Interior Framing?

Hello.

I will have a Paslode F-350S 30 degree type D stick nailer and a Paslode F325C coil nailer.

What nails do I need for interior framing basement 2x6 and 2x4 walls non-load bearing?

8d for toe nailing and 16d for face nailing?

Should I just get all stick nails or should I get coil nails for the face nailing and stick for the toe nailing or does it matter?

Whats better/most used in the Canadian workplace?

Matt

For framing I'd use 16D for everything.

I usually use 3-1/2" for nailing plates to studs, I like the idea of as much penetration into end grain as possible. These are good for toe-nailing as well.

I nail top plates together with 3-1/4", that way the end sticks out just a bit, so I know where not to drill holes.

I use 2-3/4" ring shanks for trimmers, invariably you'll shoot one right where you need to mount an electrical box, and these don't stick out at all.
