I am sinking 53 telephone poles 8 feet into the ground and i am looking for a product to use that will keep the concrete from decaying the wood. any suggestions?

Properly treat poles should not need anything on them. Ever seen the power company setting poles with anything on them?
Not going to do any harm to use some foundation sealer or creosote.

The power company puts tar on the ends of the poles that are being sunk. I just don't ever want to have the problem of having to replace them or the poles rotting.

I've never once seen them do it that way before but it would be a great idea since that's where the water would be soaked in the most.
I find most post rot off at the top of the hole not the bottom.

Don't use concrete. Just pack the dirt back in. Concrete will probably accelerate the decay.

Worked with lodgepole pine timbers for ages and we treated with a mixture of diesel and coppernapthanate. We soaked for quite awhile though and had tanks for such purposes. I am not sure you gain a lot trying to paint something on.

I don't think concrete will accelerate decay unless you somehow form a pocket the pole sits in and that traps water. We usually dry fit posts. We fit them in their holes, level and plumbed them, then poured in dry concrete mix and wet it down so it would set.

I think if you are burying these 8 feet repacking dirt would hold them.
