I seem to have a problem with the sill plate on one end of the house lifting up from the block foundation in the basement about 1/2 inch. it only seems to be lifting up on the inside of the basement, not the outside of the house. it doesn't seem to be rotten that I can see. any advice or suggestions what might be causing this and solutions to fixing this would be greatly appreciated. thanks, the sill plate is about 14 ft. long.

I would check the elevation of the sill and the block with an accurate level. It may be that the block is settling the 1/2 inch rather than the sill lifting 1/2 inch. Only a very careful survey will tell. The fix will be quite different depending on which element is moving.
thank you for your reply, Dan. I don't believe the block has settled because the sill is sitting on top of it on the outside, only on the inside is the sill lifting up off of it, almost like it is warped. but I see no water damage.
