Sill plate and pre-hung door

Im installing a pre-hung door over an opening in a finished basement. From what I've read in previous postings, it's advisable to cut the carpet out before laying down a sill plate. In my case I only need a foot on either side of the door for a sill plate. The portion that the door opens, I will leave the carpet.

Now, I've heard that you should use pressure treated lumber for the sill plate to avoid lumber on concrete direct contact. What about the door frame? (Pic included)

Should I paint it, lay a piece of vapor barrier underneath it?

You can install a layer of Water and Ice shield over the area of the sill plate, that will also sit under the door jams (between the jambs and the concrete).
You could also go one step further and hit the bottom of the jambs with a coat of paint too.

Also, do not forget to paint all sides of that door, especially the bottom of the door panel itself.
The door will swell a little in the basement install, but if you leave any regions unpainted, plan on the door swelling to the point that it will not even close inside the door frame.

Sill plate and pre-hung door

Thanks for the tips AtlanticWBConst.

Any idea if there are alternative options to drilling and bolting the sill plate and door frame to the concrete. I measured it and I have 5 " on both sides to put down. I don't know if I want to start messing with drilling into the concrete foundation. Any kind of glue or adhesive on the market?

Liquid Nail or PL brand similar construction Adhesive. Get the Heavy Duty, and make sure that the concrete in that area of install is dust and dirt free.
